I combine my passion for Art and Illustration with my expertise in Science to create engaging scientific visuals. I create illustrations to depict cellular processes, as well as protein and molecular structures, to facilitate science visualization and scientific understanding in general. I believe that scientific knowledge is more useful when is transmitted. By translating scientific research to engaging colorful visuals, I can help bridging the gap by making science more approachable.
I have a PhD in Life Sciences with emphasis in Microbiology and Fungal cell biology. During my PhD I worked with proteins from the cell wall of filamentous fungi. Currently, I'm a postdoctoral associate at UMass medical school where I study the architecture of proteins involved in membrane trafficking and exocytosis. During my years in the Scientific field, I have created this growing portfolio with illustrations that are designed as a visual celebration of science.
