I combine my passion for Art and Illustration with my expertise in Science. I create 2D illustrations to depict cellular processes, for scientific infographics, scientific textbook figures, scientific logos and to facilitate science visualization and scientific understanding in general. In 2020 I started creating 3D scientific art for protein and molecular visualization. I believe that scientific knowledge is only useful when is transmitted. By translating scientific research to engaging visuals, I can help bridging the gap by making science more approachable.
I have a PhD in Life Sciences with emphasis in Microbiology and Fungal cell biology. During my PhD I worked with proteins from the cell wall of filamentous fungi. Nowadays, I'm a postdoctoral associate at UMass medical school where I work studying the architecture of proteins involved in membrane trafficking and exocytosis. During my years in the Scientific field, I have created this growing portfolio with old and new pieces that were designed as a visual celebration of science.
